To justify his comment about the users nationality Schaffer claims there was a “Pakistan” icon next to the user’s name. Such a mechanism does not exist currenty on Facebook, so it is unknown what, if anything, Schaffer actually saw.

Because of this Schaffer claims:

“I thought he was making this comment from Pakistan. It wasn’t a racist comment… It was just an honest mistake.”

The original conversation was captured and is featured above this article. Clearly the customer’s location is listed as “Sheridan, WY.” It boggles the mind how that location could ever be construed as “Pakistan.” They both end in “an”, but beyond that there are limited similarities.

Schaffer has deleted the entire conversation and has locked down the company Facebook page as it has been under siege from protesters around the world.

All of Wilcoxson’s ice cream is indeed produced with kosher gelatin, so the customer had nothing to worry about and had Shaffer answered the question properly this article would never have been written.
